Seahorse

Introduction to Kicking Techniques and Breath Control

Class Description

Seahorse classes are all about kicking and the Core Value of Propulsion. The focus is on air regulation, correct body position, and maintaining proper relaxation during both belly and back kicking drills. As these techniques are practiced, Backstroke is introduced.

Student Goals

Seahorse swimmers learn proper technique for air regulation, kicking, head and body position during rolls, independently swim to the bottom of the pool, and elementary Backstroke. On graduation day, Seahorse students jump in the pool while wearing street clothes and shoes, roll to their back, and kick 30 feet across the pool!
